Free terrain Tile images

Hi i just wanted to see if anyone knew where to find some good terrain tiles.Its the usual stuff, dirt, grass, rocks,etc.I'll do any thing to avoid art myself!Thanks.

do what I do - rip textures out of existing games and alter them abit :)If you want a complete Tile set, I seem to remember RedAlerts tiles are very easily extracted - though It might be abit obvious where they came from :)

Im supprised there isn't a bunch of free sets people have put up.Must be because everyones ripped them from games to, and don't want lawyers knocking.

There's not as many textures resources arounds is there? Abuse has the right idea. :) There are textures at www.3dkingdom.org but only a few and they're not brilliant.

I bought a 3d developers cd for ?-99 a while ago. Amongst other things it had a textures sections - hundreds of them, and royalty free too! I've seen similar cd's advertised on the Internet. I think it's a small price to pay as you get far more than you'd ever need!...

Try here, Tons of good game pics for 2D rpg game .. most of them are from RPG Maker.. I'm not sure if they are illegal or not.. but for hobby I think it should be fine :) http://www.eagleeyerpg.com/
