Errors

9 times out of 10 when i use a java programme, my machine gets a blue screen then reboots.

I have the most up to date version of Java and I use XP.

Is there anything I can do?

I cannot fully read the blue screen as it reboots so quick, but it says something like windows has found and error and will reboot.

You can set the Startup and Recovery options in the System properties...

1. Set it to write an event to the System log (you do know how to get to the system log?)

2. Turn off the option to have it automatically reboot (this will allow you to read the bsod)

well this blue screens are known as blue screens of deaths in layman's terms. basically, it can also mean that the os is corrupted in a way or so. u can try reformat ur hard disk, reinstall the os again... though it takes a little of your time, it do helps with a stables os. i have personally experience the problem with blue screens. after i reformat my harddisk and redo the os... now my pc is runnin without problems when it comes to java.

if u r runnin win 98SE os, u will need ur boot disk and other nesscary cds such as office... the os cd etc.

first put in the boot up disk be4 turnin the pc on.

let it run till it reaches the command prompt. type in fdisk.

u wil come to a screen filled with options to delete the partitions in your hdd etc. delete all partions including logical drives. after that reallocate spaces for partition again. after that juz install the os!

hope that helps. if i made any mistakes in explainin, feel free to correct me. thanks. gd luck :)
