Help! Best Book

What is the best book that you can suggest on "learning Java". And also is there a pattern or outline on learning Java, what is the 1st step, 2nd step ... on learning java?

I do have a basic background in Java and now i want to continue... and i noticed theres a lot more to learn like Java Beans, JSP and so on. Can you help me what is my first step to explore more on Java. Or give me a reference/book to explore more

"Thinking in Java" by Bruce Eckel, is a great book.

For a good background in Java I would also recommend a book on the certification exam, such as

Definitely check out the wrox books. They're good for all areas in programming. You can get them from Amazon or your local book store.
