Has Java for the playstation been made available yet?

There was some Java stuff for PS2, and the PS3 will definitely support it, but I'm not sure if anyone can just download a JDK for PS2.

I would guess it comes with the PS2 dev kit. which will set you back several 1000 pounds.erm... *1.5 for euros/dollars

The Dev kit in the states is $200. It comes with Linux 7.1( Not sure on the Version) and a PS2 Mouse and Keyboard. You still have to buy a hard drive though to install.

Yes, but that's not the full development kit. It's one Sony made commercially available in case Joe Average wanted to make some dinky game and run it off of his PS2, and you can only play the games if you have the kit.

The dev kit for the PS2 is Linux. So, if Java can run on Linux, then you could run Java apps on it. I don't think there is an API for receiving controller input. Just keyboard and mouse probably.Again, Im assuming. And you all know what happens when you assume. ***|u|me.
