They do care somewhat, but I don't think enough. They're too fixed on the idea "we tried it and it failed" instead of "what can we do to solve the problem?". It still doesn't explain why they won't listen to some ideas to solve the problem. I thought I was going about out correctly rather than complaining I was trying to brainstorm some ideas and it was deleted twice. I wouldn't be as bitter as I am now if they actually listened to what I had to say instead of deleting it right away. But that's what happens, at least give us ONE off topic thread, something for the community, but it's not going to happen. I'm happy that they brought us the gaming forum and listened to our ideas there (thank you), but I just can't agree with their other decision. Sort of the wrong place for this, but I can blame that one on you ;)
Game developers are defenatly second class citizens around the java camp. It's unfortunate too since we have quite a bit of client userbase that we could draw in with some very minor ( IMHO ) changes to the system.
Nothing against those pulling for us internal to sun ( thanks guys! you rock! ) but it's infuriating to see them fixing ee bugs and closing simple changes that would have made game development SOOO much easier ( real, accurate currentTimeMills() ).
Oh,
why start this forum here when www.javagaming.org has several sun techies and a very active community?
Ivo, we do care. And for posting a public apology, I've dropped 25 Duke Dollars into your account as a peace offering.
