more on javac compilation error

hi all

So here is more information regarding the coimpilation problem that i 'm facing

i have got jdk1.2.2 loaded on my system. the first program that i compiled e.g. when i gave the statement for compiling such that javac try.java it gave an alert box with the error "javac has generated errors it will be closed by the windows. u may need to restart the computer". The same problem is encountered on restarting.

is there some incompatibility regarding the system and the jdk or there is some problem with the jdk version that i'm using.
