All exe's in jre\bin crashing

Hello,

I am using a dual processor machine with NT4.0 build 1381 service pack 6.

I installed jre 1.2.2_06 on this machine. I tried running java but it crashed giving Dr Watson error. I tried running other exes found in the bin directory. All of them are crashing giving the same access violation error.

Can anyone help me figure this out?
