Jornada 720 and invisible Java Console

I have successfully been using PJ to compile and run java apps on my Jornada but am unablre to 'see' any output in the console display. The cursor is just visible as an underscore character and seems to move down the expected number of lines, but the text is not visible.

Any ideas?
