PRC Converter error 1060

I can't get the converter to work, the reported error is something about a mismatch between the JAR and JAD files, but I copied the attribute text directly so they have to be the same. The readme says something about a known bug 4511054 Error Code 1060 when converting JAR with MANIFEST at the end to PRC

What does that mean? Does the manifest have to be at the start of the JAR? If so, how can I force the jar utility to do that?

[wbrogden],

The bug states that there was a problem with the PRC converter tool for the MIDP for Palm OS 1.0 BETA release. This bug is fixed in the officially released version of the MIDP for Palm OS 1.0 which is now available at:

This does not appear to have been corrected in the currently-downloadable midp4palm-1_0.zip at the URL indicated by Allen Lai

If the jar's manifest is at the end, then error 1060 still occurs. It is necessary to un-jar, re-jar with manifest first, and update the .JAD's MIDlet-Jar-Size property.

I have experienced this problem too with the latest download. Can someone please tell me how to place the manifest at the beginning of an archive? Each time I have tried, it is always placed at the end of the archive.

I have both j2sdk1.3.1 and 1.4.0 installed on my system. If I set the JAVA_PATH to point to the runtime for 1.4.0 then the converter does not convert correctly. If I set the JAVA_PATH to point to the 1.3.1 jre then it works fine and 1060 does not occur.
