dropdown list

hi,

i have a question in dropdown lists.In Update module say u already have a id value for id.the user can modify using the dropdown so i want to display the existing value along with the other values so that the user can choose a id from the list and if a id is chosen then the correspoding name should be displayed in the name field can anybody tell me how can i implement this using jsp and html
